Sweep is a safety app for South African bikers. If you crash or need help, it sends your location to your crew, your WhatsApp group and your emergency contacts. Even when you have no data.
How it works
Your emergency contacts, your riding crew and your group's WhatsApp central number. Add your blood group and allergies to your medical card.
Sweep watches for a crash in the background. Your crew can see where you are while you ride together.
A crash or an SOS sends your pin, what happened, your bike and your medical details. Riders nearby can say they are coming.
Features
Sweep looks for a hard hit while you are moving, then checks that the bike has stopped and you are not getting up. Stopping at a robot, a stop sign or idling in traffic does not set it off.
You get a countdown to cancel. If you don't answer, your people are told where you are.
Burst tyre, out of fuel, breakdown or something worse. Pick what happened and Sweep sends it with your location to riders near you and to your crew.
Alerts go to WhatsApp automatically, and fall back to SMS when there is no signal for data.
Plan a route with stops, avoid highways or tolls, and share a link. Riders tap to ask to join and you approve them. On the day, everyone can see who is where.
Save a QR code as your lock screen or print it as a sticker for your helmet. A paramedic or passer by scans it and sees your blood group, allergies and who to call. It works without signal.
At Killarney the track shows on the map. Start track mode and Sweep times your laps, splits each lap into three sectors and shows your gap to your best lap.
For clubs and groups
Most riding groups already have a WhatsApp group. WhatsApp does not let apps post into normal groups, so each group adds one central number: the person or phone that runs the group. When a member goes down, that number gets the alert, the pin and the details straight away.
Clubs in Joburg, Durban, PE and the Cape can each set their own central.
For bike businesses
Sweep stays affordable because motorcycle businesses can advertise inside the app. Dealers, workshops, gear shops and tyre fitters only. No random ads, and we never sell rider data to anyone.

The pilot
We are testing Sweep with real riders before it goes on the Play Store. The pilot is free. Android riders get the app, and iPhone riders can use the web version.
Every pilot rider signs a short agreement before they start, so their information and our work both stay safe.
